Innovative digital technology enables us to provide better care for our patients by simplifying the procedure of capturing images of teeth, which can then be easily viewed by both the dentist and the patient. Digital technology allows high-quality and precise visual representations.

Some examples of the digital technology we use at Jonathan C. Wang DDS, Inc. include:

Intraoral Camera

At our office, Dr. Wang is always looking for new ways to help you achieve a healthy smile. The intraoral camera (IOC) captures a detailed view of every aspect of the patient’s mouth with incredible detail. This technology allows Dr. Wang to share a picture with the patient, in order for them to better understand the problem as well as the treatment options.

Digital X-Rays

Digital x-rays are used by Dr. Wang to more precisely diagnose, treat, and monitor oral health problems. This type of x-ray replaces photographic x-rays on film with digital technology. Digital technology provides enhanced computer images which are used to detect cavities, monitor the development of teeth, and visualize surrounding bone health.

Panoramic Digital X-Ray

A panoramic x-ray is a two-dimensional (2-D) dental x-ray that captures the whole mouth in a single image. It includes all teeth, upper/lower jaws, and surrounding structures. This x-ray is an important periodic screening tool which is commonly used in identifying third molars and any other pathology/abnormality developing within the jaw bones.

Digital Intraoral Scanning

At Jonathan C. Wang DDS, Inc. a small, wand-like device known as an intraoral scanner can be used to instantly and gently capture visually accurate 3D images (impressions) of your teeth and gums without the use of any radiation. This method is used for Invisalign orthodontic treatment, and by sending these images to a dental lab, the 3D scans can also be used when restoring your smile and  your dental health with crowns, veneers, bridges, implants, or dentures.

Photographs

When indicated, digital photos aid in the diagnosis and determination of the treatment(s) required that will best benefit you. Dental photography allows you to see your smile and certain oral conditions from the same point of view as Dr. Wang. It will make it easier for you to make an informed decision on the treatment(s) being recommended by Dr. Wang and can be used for future reference purposes.
